Presently, you can freely search through headlines using the search box at the top of the site. You then see the the headlines (not the body text) that contain your keyword and get a link to where the article was originally posted on the news source.
(Feb 07) The clipping service will enhance this by also searching the byline of the articles as well as the first portion of the article text. We plan to have the initial version of the clipping service available in couple months days.
There are over 45 national clipping services that will do a great job when you need to clip news from major news sources nationwide. They are also fairly expensive. We plan to offer a solution that's more affordable and priced per state - and you can just purchase what you need.
The difference with our clipping / media monitoring service is that we will offer substantially more depth within any particular state. Our goal is to track 100-200+ news sources in each state.
Another difference is, that since we only search news articles that are posted online, it's very responsive to breaking news. Each morning you can receive an email with links to news source articles that contain the keywords you are interested in tracking.
Visit any of our state sites and click on Media Monitoring to add your name to our notification list. We’ll keep you posted when the service goes online. And we’ll also be looking for a group of users to help with some early user testing and feedback. We always appreciate your input and feedback.
